I don’t know, is that so crazy? Most people there don’t have cars. There’s no way it would’ve fit into a taxi. As long as it didn’t disturb other passengers or the driver I see no problem with it. I would love to see the video of how he got it up to his apartment though?

i don’t see anything wrong with this guy transporting a washing machine via a city bus. the conditions in israel in general and in bnei brak in particular are quite different than they are let’s say, in NY for several reasons. firstly, european style washing machines such as the one that israelis purchase are far smaller in size than the average american model, thereby making it easier to transport via a hand truck. secondly, why should this guy have to pay enormous freight charges given his probably low monthly income? thirdly, the bus had on its rear exit door a wheelchair ramp. so why should he not take advantage of it? i see nothing wrong or improper with what he did. i admire his ingenuity!

Welcome to Eretz Yisrael! If someone would try that in NYC they’ll never let him. And if it was allowed to bring on a bus, they’d charge you for it.

Living in Yerushalayim, I don’t even find this strange. I was just thinking that we would probably do the same=] Why pay for crazy delivery prices?
