This frightening incident occurred on a one-way street in Flatbush – this past Friday afternoon. It highlights the importance for pedestrians to never rely on drivers spotting you on the road. Baruch Hashem the young girl only suffered minor injuries. The driver was arrested at the scene, sources told TLS.

Girl was crossing the street on a middle of the block, not on crosswalk.
She got on a middle of the street from behind the car and driver could not see her, or he spotted her last minute.

The girl exercised due diligence looking in the direction that traffic was coming from on a one way street. It appears that the motorbike which was going the wrong way on a one way street is one of those electric bikes which are illegal to operate on either a street or sidewalk. He violated traffic regulations, she merely jay walked.

Cv- are you not seeing what happened? That idiot on the moped is going the wrong way. The girl is looking the correct way for oncoming traffic and she gets blindsided from behind. The reason moped guy got arrested is because A) 99% of these delivery guy mopeds are unregistered motor vehicles B) 99% of these guys don’t have a motorcycle license C) he was driving the wrong way against the flow of traffic. Case closed.

The video has been blocked by now. I have no idea what it shows. If the above comments are any indication then the headline still stands.
Tell your children to 1)cross at the corner and 2)always look both ways. Dont assume anything. Talking about the driver completely negates the purpose of the headline.
