Iranian Nuclear Scientist Seeks Asylum in Israel

Deputy Minister of Galil & Negev Development Ayoub Kara reports that a senior Iranian nuclear scientist has requested political asylum in Israel. Speaking at a Ramat Gan event, the deputy minister refused to disclose the identity of the scientist. He did state that the request from the scientist reached Israel via a Jewess who is a member of the Iranian Jewish community.

Kara stated that we must cooperate with anyone working to remove the growing Iranian nuclear threat.

I can’t fathom why this would be publicized.

#1: Maybe because it isn’t true. It’s a great way to play with Mr. Ahmadinnerjacket’s mind (such as it is). The Iranians are suspicious enough about “Israeli spies” in their midst; this just increases the paranoia.

As the Mishna says “pirud lereshaim, tov lahem v’tov la’olam.”
