    Back in the day, like forty years ago, chassanim wore ties. Did someone assur ties, or otherwise looking like a ben Torah at their own chassuna?

    to arizona:

    40 years ago in Eretz Yisroel no one had money for ties; it was a sign of wealth. Today it is not since every Litvack wears one on shabbos and the rabbonim every day.

    So maybe this is a throw back to Lithuania in the old days?

    Do you know how you can tell that this is a Litvishe wedding and not (C”V) a Levaya?
