NYC: Blizzard Conditions Expected To Bring 10-14 Inches Of Snow And Strong Winds Monday Night Through Early Wed Morning

A strong area of low-pressure will develop off the eastern seaboard and track north towards New York City Monday night and Tuesday. As a result, New York City is at risk for a major winter storm with 10-14 inches of snow (possibly more) and near-blizzard conditions from Monday night through Late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour are expected but could increase to 3-4 inches per hour if intense snow bands develop over the city. Ice accretion and significant coastal flooding are not expected with this system.

10-14 inches of snow (worst case scenario close to two feet)
Snow flurries are expected to begin Monday Morning
Snowfall rates increase Monday Night and early Tuesday Morning
Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour, higher if snow bands set-up.
Visibility of ¼ mile or less during the storm during period of higher winds
No ice accumulation expected

    Updated this morning at 10:20am. Possible in excess if not close to 18″-24″ inches in NYC & five boros out to tip of LI.

    Weather.com says:

    Monday: 1 – 3 inches
    Tuesday: 3 – 5 inches

    That’s a total of 4 – 8 inches.
