A private security guard stationed inside One World Trade Center was caught sleeping on the job during a surprise Port Authority inspection in the middle of the night Saturday.
65 year old Abdul Basher of Queens was fired on the spot after a Port Authority official took a picture with his smart phone of him reclining in his chair, apparently sleeping, at 2:45 a.m.
Basher told the New York Post he was not sleeping, but “exercising” his eyes.
