A family vacation ended in horrific tragedy, Thursday afternoon, when the car they were traveling in was involved in a head-on-collision. Two sisters, ages 4 and 7 were pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was on Route 90, the Jordan Valley Road, in the area of Paran.
Some of the victims in the wreckage had to be cut out of the tangled remains of the vehicles by fire rescue.
Two victims in their 40s are listed in moderate-to-serious condition and three others, including an infant, sustained light injuries.
At least three choppers landed at the scene to airlift the victims. The injured were flown to Sorokka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva.
Sadly, the family had made “Aliya” from France just three months ago, and were on a family trip to Elilat.

In the USA nearly 1.25 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day. An additional 20-50 million are injured or disabled. More than half of all road traffic deaths occur among young adults ages 15-44.

either way there are a ton more people in the US than there are in Israel, numbers don’t help
Actually the number of car fatalities in 2018 in the US was 37,461.
Check that. It was actually an estimated 40,000

So was this accident because someone was distracted on their cellphone or was it an Arab vehicular terror attack?

Unfortunately, it is the stupid government again. This is a monotonous stretch of road that even only from Yerushalayim to Teveria is a good hour and a half, and if coming from further south, this can be a 5 hour trip easily. If you get stuck behind a shlepper, which happens on average every 10 minutes during normal travel hours, it can really be annoying, and unfortunately when people try to pass other cars, not everyone is good at calculating the quickness of the oncoming vehicle (although everyone thinks that they are good at it). If the sick israeli establishment can find money for everything, why they can’t do something to find the money for this bor birshus harabim, is beyond me.
