Question for any Chassidish readers: Can someone explain to me this custom of many of the Admorim to light inside no where near a window, nor by the outside of their house? Also, I’ve notice several Rebbe’s playing violin in front of the Chanukia. What is the reason and source of this minhag? (Note: My questions are not Chalilah meant to criticize. I’m just interest in understanding the reasoning behind their minhag.)

Look in halacha:
One can light by a door way opposite the mezuzah to be surrounded by mitzvahs…
