VIDEO & PHOTOS: Mayor Bloomberg Does Rosh Hashanah Shopping In Mountain Fruit Store (Flatbush)

bho.jpg[YWN VIDEO & PHOTO LINKS BELOW] At 9:00PM on Thursday evening, Mayor Michael Bloomberg visited Mountain Fruit located on Avenue M and East 16th Street for some Rosh Hashanah shopping.

The Mayor purchased a large jar of honey to dip his apple into on Rosh Hashanah night, a star fruit for a “Shechaynu”, and some items from the “take-out” department – including a potato knish (for the ride home?).

The Mayor spent approximately 15-20 minutes inside the establishment greeting the many people who were packed into the store doing their Yom Tov shopping. He wished everyone who approached him a “Shana Tova”.

After exiting the store, he was given a tour by Flatbush Shomrim founder Chaim Deutsch of the brand new Flatbush Shomrim Command Center parked outside. The Mayor was impressed with the state-of-the-art vehicle, which was paid with hefty grants from the City Council and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

Deutsch explained to the mayor that the Command Center is used for everything from finding missing children and aiding elderly residents to crime prevention, and it’s on standby around the clock. The command center was recently rolled out and parked on a residential street in Midwood to help combat a spate of house break-ins and harassment of local youths.

I happen to be walking right outside when his car pulled up. Nice surprise but I don’t think he’ll get my vote.

Does he know how many illegals work there?

FACT: Mayor Bloomberg runs this city whether you like him or not. As a community we must stick together.(remember why the Bais Hamikdash was destroyed) Chaim Deutsch is a walking Kiddush Hashem. Chaim sets a true example about how we care about each other and our neighborhood and Mayor Bloomberg knows it.

Stupid! Why didn’t he go to Pomegranate for the “shopping experience” & where “everything is better”

I’m glad I didn’t bump into him because I may have had the urge to shake his hand even though I will not vote for him.

Now that he bought honey for Rosh Hashana i will vote for him. Even though i have no money left in my wallet to buy my own honey since i gave it all away for taxes, parking tickets and tolls. BUT WHO CARES! – as long as the mayor is frum so much that he buys honey for Rosh Hashana. Haleluja!!!
