YWN regrets to inform you of the sudden Petira of Rav Hillel Mandel, a well-known Mechanech for the past 30 years. He was 62.
Rav Mandel currently lived in Chicago, where he served as the Menahel of the Veitzner Yeshiva. Prior to living in Chicago, the Niftar was a Rebbe in Los Angeles, Deal NJ, and Montreal.
He was a long-time Lakewood resident before he moved.
The Levaya will be held in Chicago on Tuesday morning, following by a Levaya on Tuesday night in Lakewood.

He was the son of Rabbi Nachman Mandel z’l, a longtime mechanech in Los Angeles.
he was not a teacher in Deal and Montreal. He was the menahel!

I can not believe what i herd last night from my son Srulie getter of chicago he said to me tatty sit down our menahel rav hillel was nifter i have no words to say the shock i am in london the way he handled each and every child like his own kids my grand children were crying all night i spoke to him a few weks ago and he told me look at your grandchildren i told him you get the credit the work you put in to them but the town must all ways remember the work hrav hillel mandel put in to our kids and grandchildren ther is no end to his good deeds let us all pray for his dear wife and family to go on
