New lines were painted on the shoulder along Route 59 in Monsey on Wednesday night.
Two weeks ago, a 4-month old child was R”L struck and killed in the area. His mother had been pushing him in a stroller, while his two sisters walked alongside them. There are no sidewalks along that stretch of road.
New signs warning drivers not to drive in the shoulder were also installed.

Well, judging from one of the pics, this wont a help a darn. The maniac drivers dont give a hoot about lines.
Whoever thinks that this will be a deterrent for vehicles not to drive on the shoulder is mistaking, so does this mean that there is no chance of sidewalks on 59?
