I was looking on aliexpress for necklaces and came across a swastika necklace. They even named it “The Svastika” necklace. I am truly horrified.
Any suggestions of what to do?
Please no comments, fights, or unnecessary talking. I’m asking for real suggestions of what to do. I know option one is ignore and don’t buy there, but I want to do something…
Use of the swastika predates the Nazis ym’s.
I went to AliExpress, and a search showed many such items.
I chatted and reported it. The agent said he would report it to his superiors and they will send me an email.
You can do the same.
Yserbius123, that is not entirely true. The Nazis used it at a 90 degree angle as well.
The word “svastika” in Sanskrit indicates that it is intended as the ancient symbol of auspiciousness.

Similar to eBay, but for Chinese sellers, and no auctions.

Whatever its history, it definitely is now a hate symbol. I told the agent this.
Was looking at bags on amazon and saw an anti-jew briefcase for 3-6 year olds! it had a magen david an d it was X’d over! i was horrified! left a very bad review!
You can’t stop people from hating. Hate is as old as the world.
I also complained to a couple of sellers. One responded with a picture of a getchka wearing the necklace. I assume they mean to defend themselves by saying that people are buying it for avodah zarah purposes, not as a Nazi symbol. The Nazi symbol actually is a mirror image of the buddhism symbol, not the exact same symbol.
I belive Aliexpress is a chinese company and most of the sellers are in China who might not be aware of the symbolism
SayIDidIt: Nazis also used the reverse swastika (which the tumedika internet tells me is called a sauwistika). But it’s more prominently displayed at a 45 degree angle, like on the Third Reich flag. In Eastern cultures it’s almost always lying flat.
