On an ipod you can slow down or speed up mp3’s if they are audiobooks or podcasts. In itunes on the computer right click the file, choose info and there should be a choice to change media type to podcast, audiobook, etc. (default is “music”). The annoying thing is that itunes itself doesn’t have the option to play at the different speeds so you have to listen from the ipod.
