PBA: Artscroll quotes the Tosfos HaRosh who basically explains what Brony says. We know that Halachic pi is 3 but that real pi is 3.14. The Gemara asked for a source (which it doesn’t need because it’s easily measurable) that Halachic pi is 3, not for a source for what real pi is.
