He invested in a rice fields venture with a group of swiss partners, one of whom has a brother involved in drugs so the Bolivian authorities think the capital used to purchase the real estate comes from dubious origin hence his shock arrest. However he has never been charged with any crime and the jail there is run by a mafia of violent and dangerous prisoners who are given completely free rein by the prison guards. A terrible story.
