Parents should be involved in the process. Parents should be trusted that they have their childrens best interest in mind. A 25 year old bochur in Lakewood has no reason to have the shiduchim redd directly to him. Redd it to the parents and let them look into it, after that if the shadchan wants to talk with said bochur thats fine.
