I am glad to know R’ Miller’s opinion on this. To me this is dispicable – there were plenty of rabbonim in Europe who told their congregants to stay, rather than flee. Does that mean those rabbonim are responsible for the death of their congregants? The NAZIS and their collaborators are responsible.
There has not been one holocaust survivor that I spoke to (when discussing this topic) that didnt admit they felt guilty for not doing more for their mother/father/brother/sister/relative/friend/enemy.
