For you folks who think fracking can help lower gas prices: Fracking is a very expensive way to get oil, or methane, out of the ground. It does not pay at current prices, and it surely won’t pay when gasoline costs less than $4.00 per gallon.
And one of the problems with fracking is the damage it does to properties adjoining the fracking site. The owners of those properties may not receive royalties from the fracked oil or gas, but their properties are damaged, and they have to sue the frackers to get themselves compensated for the damage to the property. And that further raises the cost of fracked oil and gas.
