There is a difference between a physical hanoah which is not batel but a spiritual haniah as above s batel because of mitzvos were not given for enjoyment see Rosh Hashana (28,1) therefore it is considered altruistic. See rhe Binah Leitim volume 2 on Pirkei Avos about being selfish.
