Chazak Ubaruch for meriting the Aliyah makes sense.
The Ashkenazic Shkoyach which connotes “thank you ” is presumably for the Mi Shebeirach when the Oleh mentions and blesses another congregant’s name. The original Yasher Kochacho which morphed into Shkoyach is similar to your Chazak . Maybe that’s how it happened.
